So for use on facebook if you're a geek and love tagging people randomly in those fun post things

You are in a geeky (other wise known as awesome) tv series, use the 10 people from your profile to figure out which character and show you belong in:

Runs around saying 'shiny", having a penchant for "the browncoats" and tight pants:

Say's Danger danger, will robinson and get's lost alot unless it's the new one and then we have no idea:

loses his shirt, beats a vulcan at chess, and KHANNNN!!!

Kurt russel, serious, richard dean anderson, and  Traveling to other worlds through a puddle:

(Transforming noise, and punching megatron in the face) Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!

Muppets and leather outfits, What the Frell!? well that's a bunch of dren...

chucks, glasses, trenchcoats, suits, scarves, and decorative vegetables and bow ties are cool...WHO? Well lets just say it's bigger on the inside:

"That's not true that's impossible" umm dad cut off your hand, really bad day right?

in original was a guy, but then what the frack, he's a she, but at least we know the name came before the coffee shop was popular:

Echo, sierra, though you can fight, no you aren't in the military, at least until you pick up your phone and we wipe your brain:

Bonus points to all who guess the shows!

42

I havent written on anything in awhile, and when I thought, oh I should write, I was like, well what should I write about, 42 popped into my head, which, though I'm not really thinking as broadly the answer to life universe and fish, I feel like I'm writing about random jumbles in my head, so 42 it works...
( oh and if you don't know what 42 means, well then read it )
Okay, so In my life, I'm moving! Only a couple miles from where I live now, but I'm excited alot!
Actually in all the times I've moved this will be the first time I've ever gotten to paint my own room! so exciting...
I'm switching from geico to progressive... So maybe I should say, an australian lizard to flo...:)
I really like my car... terra is her name...
I've found more doctor who fan friends, they are pretty awesome... not just because they like DW, but because they're pretty cool... :)
And
I understand why I haven't written in awhile... need to be in the mood...lol
So that's all for now

TERRA NOVA (has spoilers after first sentence and link)

So Just finished watching the pilot episodes of TERRA NOVA (click link for hulu)
I really enjoyed it! Now I feel like alot of people are going to say, jurassic park with future tech...
All I'm going to say is, no, and also a big SO??
Anyway...
At first, while watching, I was getting an unsettled feeling about the whole time paradox thing, then there was a scene were they explained it that they went back in time to an alternate past.
Fun story, strange plot line (hopefully that doesn't get it cancelled, I love that stuff).
But I have to say my favourite surprise was steven lang! he's playing almost the exact same character as he did in Avatar! Personally I liked his character in the first part of the movie avatar. And Terra Nova has him set up the same way, military protector, I think the set up will make him stay "good" because their are no native people's to be terrorized and thus sympathized for... unless you really have a heart for dinosaurs...
Either way nice surprise to see him...
Good show start!

Truth, yeah there is truth...

So I was reading in John 18 37-38
Pilate says, you are a king... Jesus says, "You are right in saying I am a King. In fact for this reason I was born and for this I came into the world to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me." "What is truth?" is pilots first response.
It struck me that relativism was around back then, and really it seems that a distaste for truth or what truth is, is where we don't mind not believing someone. Making it easier for God's truth to be disbelieved, because we don't believe in truth, because that's what education/people say, don't believe in truth unless you yourself can prove it, and even then be skeptical...
Thus we float around and live for what we like and what suits "us" not live for what God likes and what suits God...
And the skeptic would say, 'how do we know what suits God or what he likes...' yeah okay, the Bible peoplethe bible... If God planned all of history, then he also planned the bible to be how he wanted it to be in this age too. I roman one day didn't change the entire outcome of truth because he canonized the bible one way... Is God in control? Yes. Okay Truth...
I think I started ranting... sorry. It's just exciting to see that even when Jesus was walking people were sinful people that didn't like truth. It means that I haven't gone through anything that a disciple hasn't gone through... I just get the shiny phone...

Just cause I haven't posted in awhile

So saw "rise of the planet of the apes" recently and I have to say it was pretty good!

Great acting, nice(ish) soundtrack, and great tip of the hats to the original Planet of the apes!
Keeping to the plot lines and such (tho I think Battle for the planet of the apes would say that "Caesar" was the son of apes gone back in time but we WILL ignore that paradox)

For sure go and see Rise of the planet of the apes and enjoy it even if you haven't seen another ape movie in your life (you'll like it)

Torchwood

So the new season of Torchwood is sweet...
I'd say it's already better than children of the earth
What is torchwood you ask?
Well torchwood is the BBC spin off series of Doctor who... in fact it's an anagram of Doctor who... (pretty sweet right)
It's centered around Captain Jack Harkness who we met in Season 1 of the new doctor who series...
Rose accidentally made him immortal and then the 51st century man got accidentally put in the 1800's where he lived till the 21st century...
He took Torchwood ( created by the queen of england to stop and protect Britain from aliens) when it got decimated by the cybermen dalek battle (where rose got stuck in the other universe)
Rebuilt it and then it ran for 3 seasons and now it's in it's 4th season...
I couldn't deal as much with the first season due to bbc3's explicitness... however 3 was a serial (like 4 is now) and it was really good without the dumb stuff...
There you go a review and overview on torchwood...
Watch season 4 (you will be okay without watching previous stuff fyi)!

Weekend!

JUST GOT BACK...
...from Michigan Vacation with the Schenke family (and drake's family too)...
First I love beaches so it was awesome cause I got to be on the beach all saturday!
hanging out with kim's family was fun...
though my highlight was hanging out with her:)
I enjoyed the continued friendship developing that happened during the weekend :)

on a different note
I made lego zombies... and these sold well on ebay...
so I think I will be continuing in the zombie making business with my legos... I'm excited, because that means I get to occasionally buy legos (so I can get bone pieces to customize them into zombies)
A ploy you ask to get more Legos?
Well...
Maybe... But since the first batch sold for enough money to buy more legos, and 2 meals I'd say it'll be worth it (especially since I chose a set that should make more zombies that my first set had in it...
Spend some to make some... or make some to make some more?
either way I'm excited!
:)

First swim...

First swim after the Triathlon today...

you know because of the tri, there's this peace about swimming I've never had before... it's relaxing, even enjoyable!! I swam for an hour ish in the middle of the lake... Kim was teaching me to swim better for a bit... It's just nice :)

I Like Swimming :) ha! Wouldn't have said that a month ago...

Praise God for change of heart and showing me another thing that's beautiful in the relaxing trust it causes me to do. Reminds me of how I have to relax and trust him (or I'll drown ;)

Adventures...

So just got back from a first time experience...
John ditmer asks me if I want to go down to the lake house in winona lake to go rent a 'paddle board' Didn't know what that was, but i was like sure, I'm always up for something new and fun!

So this store is a new one in the village of winona lake, and it's all surf, swim, boarding things!
Pretty cool...
But coolest feature is the ability to rent things like kayaks and these boards to take out on the lake!
Check out this link "lake house"

anyway basically it's a surf board that is built to have you stand and use a paddle to paddle out onto the lake... It's like a gondola surf board... it was awesome! Good stuff...
kinda weird cause it felt like we were standing on the water!

anyway I recommend it to everyone who likes water, and new forms of fun on it!

and the tri is done...

So I have now done a Triathlon!

I did it in, 1:23:33
My Swim was: 18:20
My Bike was: 41:18
And the Run was: 20:47

I had a slower transition time between swim to bike, but I kinda expected that... my bike to run was only :30s
I beat my dad, he was 10mins behind me or so...
It was a good race!
I actually enjoyed it, the swim was pretty cool and I feel like I could improve my swim and run too!
I am amazed and thankful for the awesome body God's gifted me with, it was cool to see it preform this race!

Here it comes!

So today is wednesday... Saturday morning is the triathlon...
They totally tantalized me with something that probably wont happen today though, in their email to entrants...
In case the lake is closed, it will be a duathlon... Oh! why would they do that to me?! To know that i might just get to bike and run instead of swimming?
I think I need to just assume that we are doing the whole tri, but just for a second, I'll think about how awesome that would be :)
Okay the end... not another thought about that awesome thought :)

The cost...

"Luke 14: 25-33 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. "

Wait did Jesus just say hate family? And hate yourself? Well, no but yes it should make someone pause for a second or ten...
According to my ESV Study bible, the word "hating", in this context, is semitic of loving less...
This brings us to the point of the passage:
We must relinquish everything, a complete commitment, if we want to be a disciple...

I find this all interesting, hence the post, due to certain ideas people have:
the first being this, As Christians we need to hate ourselves and bash our self to be a true follower... this, from what I hear, is very Bob Jones, but go ahead and link to it for yourself...
The second is this, we are trained from day one in society to say, I have worth, I am important, I will succeed, I deserve, Love yourself, Me, me, me, mine, mine mine...

Honestly, both philosophies are wrong. It is true that most people don't have any trouble loving themselves at one time or another... and it's just as easy to hate oneself...

BUT, Jesus is saying look here people, if you aren't willing to put aside everything, willing to choose the electric chair (pick up your cross), then you aren't willing to be a disciple of him...
(see vs 33) So I guess the question for Christians become, are you willing? Are you acting on this? Does this scare you?
Well I think I need to pray and ponder some more, Cause I don't have the answers... Let me know what you think!

Triathlons, movies, and sunburns...

So Beach trip was amazing! I build one amazing castle and one half aztek pyramid (building in sand is always the highlight of a beach trip for me). Had a good run on the beach, took a small nap in a tree and jumped off of a dune a number of times!
All great fun!
Then the sunburn and sore muscles in the morning felt ridiculous! I didn't want to be in the sun at all! crazy...
However today I ventured out for a bike run workout. As a few may know I am in the last bit of triathlon training...
ask me how my training has gone?
Well not well... However my biking skills have improved quite a bit since I started, and though my swimming skills are slow, I can do the distance and more if I need too...
it should be interesting what happens during the race! If anyone is interested in seeing what race i'm doing I linked it in the last sentence, so check it out!
I'm excited after today's workout because I think the bike run transition should be great! Praise God for the body that can be trained and conditioned to do this!
In other news:
Also There is a chance I'll be able to see Transformers again today at work! I know the guys I'm working with would love to see it, so it's a 80% chance! Woot, so 80% chance here I come!!
Autobots Transform and roll out!

Today we go to...

THE BEACH!
Woot...
So other than some take off problems, people not following the plan and messing up the leaving time (hence the time to blog) I'm excited for beach!
I love sand!
Oh and what's awesome and sweet in the sand?
Sandcastles
And
running!
Speaking of running first, props to three rivers running club for being and awesome running store/club!
2nd I love my vibrams! These are the 5 toe shoes!
Barefoot running with protection one might say... :)
Though I will not be bringing them to the beach, they are quite amazing to run in...
Talking about them makes me what to bring them to the beach... they are just that awesome!
What fun!
Well hopefully we will leave soon, so write back another day!

Dark Of The Moon Soundtrack

I know I just posted about Transformers, but though this wont be all that I talk about it's currently on my mind...
So I love the soundtrack that Steve Jablonsky put together for all the Transformers movies
It's epic, fun, and right with the scene that's happening at the time it plays!

Unfortunate problem...
Walmart and K-mart both didn't have the score to Dark of the Moon!
They only had the pop/rock songs cd! oh no!
So then I go browsing the internet, just to see if I can even find a hard copy of it and Amazon doesn't even have it!!! how is this possible! Go ahead and check kinda frustrating...
Well Lucky for me itunes has them,
so I bought a blank Cd and bought some tunes and will now have a cd for my car, but come on people! I can't be the only one that likes soundtracks?!

Am I wrong? am I the only person who really likes the soundtracked score from movies?

Optimus-Prime-Transformers-Dark-of-the-Moon.jpg

Well first post should start big!

Well all among many things I'm a fan of transformers! As a kid I loved reading comics and watching transformers! When the movies came out I was excited to just see my imaginations of regular real life cars transforming come true! With the most recent one being super awesome I thought I'd like a review from Seibertron.com to continue what I think in someone else's speech! Though remember I think this is the best transformers film by Michael Bay to date...
